DIY Home Beauty Remedies

Everyone wants to look flawless, but it can be time consuming and expensive to keep buying beauty products and treatments. We all have those days where we are getting ready and notice a blackhead or piece of hair that just won’t cooperate—most of the time we need a quick and convenient fix. We have put together this list of easy, at-home remedies to solve almost all of your beauty emergencies, and the best part is that you can find all of these ingredients in your kitchen! Print out these tips for DIY home beauty remedies and tape them to your mirror as a reminder that perfection is only one step (or kitchen) away!

1. Blackheads
No one wants a face full of blackheads, but facials and creams can get expensive! Instead, try mixing honey and cinnamon. Simply put this mixture onto your blackheads for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

2. Yellow Teeth
It’s a bummer when you spend hours getting ready for a girls night out and then leave without any pictures! Don’t let stained teeth get the best of you—for all the coffee drinkers out there, whiten your teeth naturally with strawberries. This remedy is simple and easy to do. Simply blend together strawberries and baking soda then brush your teeth with the mixture. Rinse thoroughly and enjoy your new look.

3. Stained Nails
Regretting that dark blue nail polish you put on last week? It’s always important to use a basecoat when applying dark colors onto your nails, but sometimes the color just doesn’t want to come off. To get rid of stained, yellow nails, mix baking soda and water with a soft brush. Apply this paste onto your nails and let it sit for up to five minutes before washing it off.

4. Dry Skin
After the winter, it’s hard to get back to your smooth and silky skin. Even if you lather yourself with lotion every five minutes, you’ll start to notice that your dry skin just doesn’t want to go away. Fear not—mix together oatmeal and honey and apply it onto your skin for 10-15 minutes (depending on how dry your skin is). Once you rinse it off, you’ll be reunited with your soft skin once more!

5. Frizzy Hair
There’s nothing worse than having uncontrollable hair right before a date! Even the idea of that would make me cringe if I didn’t know about this quick trick. Vitamin E oil is perfect for controlling frizzy hair, and it also makes your hair appear shiny and smooth. Place a tiny amount (about the size of a dime) into your palm and run your hands through your hair—make sure not to use too much, however, or else it can leave your roots looking greasy!
