Your Guide To Home Spa Treatments For The Perfect Staycation
Ever dream of being on a tropical island, laying on a cloud of soft sand with the sun beaming down on you? Me too, especially with this freezing January weather! Unfortunately, not many of us can just pick up and go on a vacation as often as we’d like. While spa days and beach vacations are often expensive and require us to take time off of work, there is no reason why we can’t enjoy all the same relaxing benefits from home! With these recipes you will be able to fool your mind into thinking you’re on an island getaway—all from your living room!
DIY Under Eye Wrinkle Mask
Do those long days at work and long nights with the kids leave you under eye souvenirs? No one wants to walk around with dark circles under their eyes, so here is a simple recipe you can make with ingredients that you probably already have at home!
5 tsp. plain yogurt
3 tsp. brown sugar
1 ½ tsp. Vitamin C powder
Few drops of Neroli Oil optional (anti-aging)[easyazon-image align=”none” asin=”B002RSCP9W” locale=”us” height=”160″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41eI1v1yN-L._SL160_.jpg” width=”56″]
Banana Detox Facial
Want soft skin and a glowing complexion? Who doesn’t! Grab these quick ingredients from your kitchen and you’ll be on your way to flawless skin!
1 banana
1 tsp. honey
Simple, right? Start by cleansing your skin and get ready to clear the oil and dirt from your pores. Simply mash the banana, mix it with the honey, and apply it to your face, leaving out the area around your eyes. Let the mask free your pores by leaving it on for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.
Chamomile and Lavender Nail Soak (helps shape and soften nails)
What’s better than soft, shiny nails? With this DIY nail soak you can get salon nails at the comfort of your own home!
3 tbsp. chamomile essential oil
4 tbsp. lavender essential oil
Bowls (2)
Simply mix the essential oils in a small bowl, warm some water, and mix them together. Make sure the water isn’t too hot—you don’t want to remember your spa day with a burn! Place your hands in the mixture for ten minutes and then rinse your hands with lukewarm water. Pick a color and get ready to give your nails a makeover!
Bath Bombs
End your spa day with a soothing bath…all you need is:
1 cup baking soda
¾ cup corn starch
¼ cup sea salt/Epsom salt
10 drops food coloring
few drops of an essential oil of your choosing
spray bottle (for food coloring and water mixture)
mold of your choice
Simply mix the food coloring with some water, and spray a little bit into the mixture of ingredients. Make sure not to spray too much or your bath bomb won’t fizz! Put the mixture into your molds and let it dry overnight.
Enjoy!! Xx
